【HKGSA 2023 Round 1 - MSC CHALLENGE 2023】
On April 2 (Sunday), top Hong Kong drifters gathered together at Lau Fau Shan HKGSA track to hold a grand drift competition. Westlake is one of the key sponsoring brand of this competition, vigorously promoting drifting in Hong Kong. On that day, the organiser invited the famous Japanese drifting master Max Orido to be the judge. The competition was very exciting, and all the drivers showed off the skills they got, to get the score from Max Orido.
The round 1 competition included two races, drift chasing and solo drift. Before the race, every drifters were doing a Burnout right before the starting line, to warm themselves and the tires up before the race.
At the beginning of the race, each drifter pushed to his limit on the track, instantly accelerated into the corner, and then nailed perfect drifts one by one through his steering and braking skills. The vehicle shuttled through the curve at an astonishing speed, and the tyre smoke and gravel splashed around the track. It made the audience non-stop chanting and cheering.
During the exciting race, the drifters showed off their superb skills and huge determination. Each drifter on the track was striving for the best results, pushing and adjusting desperately. There were cases of loss of control and on-the-spot repairs in the pit, which showed the determination and fighting spirit of the drifters to win. The fantastic performance of the drivers aroused loud applause and cheers from the audience, and awaken the enthusiasm of audience.
The competition was held in form of knockout stages. Drifters gave out all their skills, so they make results are so close to each other, and each driver was doing his best to chase the final victory. Drifters from Westlake x Drift Missile HK got excellent results in the competition and left an amazing racing for the audience.
Drifters YANG and HONG successfully finished the competition in second and third place respectively. Their strong performance went with the extraordinary strength of SPORT RS.
